As someone who grew up in a small town and faced the challenges of my own disability, I know firsthand how important it is to have the right support and resources. My experiences taught me that with determination and the right opportunities, we can break down barriers and achieve amazing things. That personal journey is what drives me every day to help others overcome obstacles and realize their full potential.

AL LEWIS
Senior Employment Specialist (Southern Nevada)
Since joining our team in 2021, Al has been instrumental in driving the continued success of KET. His exceptional skills, genuine passion, and creativity have sparked significant growth for the company. Al holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management with a minor in Transitional Services, and he brings over 20 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. His dedication and expertise have made a profound impact on our mission and vision.
Bill Pollock
Employment Specialist (Southern Nevada)
Bill has extensive experience supporting individuals with disabilities across a variety of settings, including workshops, group homes, and community programs. At KET, he work as a job coach and job developer, assist clients with interviews, and teach Soft Skills classes. Previously, he spent 30 years teaching in public, private, and charter schools, and he hold a current Nevada Teacher's Certificate. He has also coached Special Olympics and received awards for inclusive practices during his time as a PE teacher.

KAREN POWELL
Project Search Skills Trainer (Southern Nevada)
Karen has a Bachelors in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management. She has over 30 years working with children as a Teacher, Teachers Assistant, and Director. Later she pursued a career in Social Work and found passion in working with children and families with disabilities as well as with conflicting behaviors. Her passion is being an advocate for those who cannot be an advocate for themselves.
DEBORAH MAIJALA
Job Coach (Northern Nevada)
Deborah brings over 20 years’ diverse experience in marketing, communications, and human resources; most recently in social services as a rural advocate for individuals with disabilities. Prior to that, she provided counseling and placement to both students and graduates at a local career college. Throughout her career, Deborah’s focus has been in assisting others to achieve their goals through education and workforce development, always with a Person-Centered focus.
Sierra Balderrama
Employment Specialist (Northern Nevada)
Sierra is a dedicated professional with over a decade of experience supporting individuals with disabilities. Her passion for people and making a meaningful difference in their lives has been the driving force behind her career. With a background as both an Employment Specialist and job coach, Sierra brings compassion, insight, and commitment to every role she steps into. She especially enjoys being an Employment Specialist because it allows her to witness personal growth firsthand, watching individuals not only find employment but truly thrive in their positions.
SAMANTHA (SAMII) LOVE ELLINGSON
Job Coach/ Instructor (Northern & Rural Nevada)
Samantha has dedicated her career to empowering individuals with disabilities through education and skill development. With over five years of experience working across both northern and southern Nevada, Samantha has specialized in teaching Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and essential soft skills that prepare clients for the workforce.
